vacation day #1

shopping
clean house
clean garage
pay bills
cook....

I HAVE to change around some of my meals... getting sooooo tired of eating the same ole same ole

I got a comment on my last post that got me thinking... did I come off a judgmental? I hope not... please understand I SO UNDERSTAND the re-gainer... I did it for 20 years!!!

My daughter is 24 and it has only been in the last 3 years that I have gotten to pre-pregnancy weight!!!

I lost... gained MORE
lost... this was THEE one that would do it for me
but by dinner I was at McDonald's
I joined every diet center you could list
bought super expensive diet gimmicks
gained more
tried again
gained more

I have no idea what clicked in my brain when I turned 50... no clue. I was just done!

done cutting tags out of clothes because even looking at what size I was in bothered me, and I didn't want my husband to see a size tag.... like just looking at me wouldn't tell him!!!

done buying clothes at Target or Walmart because it was the quickest least painful way to clothes shop
done wearing my husbands T Shirts
done going to get my nails done, because I couldn't reach my toe nails to cut them
done going to fast food and ordering full Super-sized meals .... as a snack!!

my husband couldn't help me
my Mom couldn't help me
I wouldn't lose weight for my kids
I wouldn't lose for my husband

I had to make me a priority, that always felt like I was being a traitor to being a a good person.... Make ME a priority!!! That would make me selfish, narcissist, a bad person, a bad wife and worst of all a bad Mom

boy oh boy was I wrong!!!!

making me important makes it so I am a better person to be around, more positive, nicer, happier which makes me a better wife and Mother

who would have thought!!!???

this is all MY experience .... I would never judge your experience, I want to root for you, hope you find that within yourself ... before you are 50!!! hopefully

Life in Maintenance


I get VERY scared when I see blogger's regain their weight

I have seen more gainers than maintainers 

Frankly this scares the crap out of me!!! according to this article by NBC news, these Quotes are what scare me the most : 



if I look back at the last week, I have over eaten due to emotional triggers: stress , anxiety, uncertainty even happiness was a trigger!! 



then I look at the other quote and two-thirds regain within 4-5 years... I have only 2 years and 4 months under my belt in maintenance... I am a maintenance baby statistically speaking

but then I see articles like this  and I have more hope... I think you blog readers will be reading my dribble for years to come, because I am convinced (according to the Karla poll) that if you stop blogging and telling on yourself, when you stop being truthful with others and yourself... you gain the weight back... and I present as evidence Diane @ Fit to Finish  

some bloggers drop off the planet, others change their focus... more cooking... okay cool, then come the cupcakes... huh? what? 

or they talk more about their craft projects ..... less pictures of themselves... then when they do post a picture... it's like wowsa!!! what happened!!

I understand how it happens... a few bites of this, a handful of that... "oh, I haven't had this in sooo long" the rationalizing to yourself... "I deserve this" it is such a mind game, you against yourself 

I overcompensate by surrounding myself with social media! I also am very up front with my trainer... I sent him a LONG text the other day... an S.O.S. of sorts... help me I am struggling and I am going through trouble for a while here... help keep me focused .... 

My goal with this blog is just to help me ... at first it was lose weight and it has changed into a maintenance blog now... I used to get really frustrated when maintenance bloggers would say that it was hard... like what the heck??!! you are supposed to be there to inspire me... you are just freakin me out now!! but I understand now that maintaining a weight lose is something I work at EVERY SINGLE DAY .... sorry if that is a bummer to hear, it is the truth... it never gets easy... some days are easier than others... I can go weeks and just be sailing along then BAM..... body slam of the Dortito type... 

back to square 1

always learning. Of late I just need to keep it simple, follow my plan, drink my water and do my cardio and lifting and things kinda click..... most of the time

Memorial Day

howdy bloggity folks


Yesterday we had a family Memorial get together... I had 3 HUGE plates of salad... total food baby happening!!! it was soooo good!!! 


so I had a few rough days last week.... we are talking major food consumption .... 
I just learned about GIF's can't ya tell....



I have a lot going on with me and work... good, really good, amazing and super amazing... but I don't know which is what?! so I am having some anxiety over all of it... I will know whats what by the end of June... so I don't gain 10 pounds over the next month so I am back to texting my trainer my food daily and journaling 


food prep and breakfast yesterday ... I was a major cooking Queen yesterday!!

just pluggin along

Good morning bloggity folks :)

just pluggin along, nothing different or mind blowing going on around here!!

I soooo have to cook though, I have resorted to frozen vegetable ... meh :|

working and doing life sometimes get's crazy and you have to adjust ... not my first choice, obviously!!

I have change coming for me in my work environment soon, so I am going to have to look at some of my meals and figure out where to change some things up... I may or may not have access to a blender or microwave... so that's not a HUGE deal, but I am on such a schedule it will be a change...

I promised myself I would work out... I didn't  ... boo

when I get up in the morning, there is kitchen, laundry, pack my food, get ready ... the time just fly's!!

I am off tomorrow.. so I will get a good work out in

I am seeing progress...

you may be shocked at my audacity in posting belly pictures... I kind of am at times... (what the heck am I thinking!!!???)

but on this blog it is weird, I am one among millions, public yet lost in the crowd.... weird

I couldn't seem to lose weight until I started this blog. Those WWer meeting just didn't do it for me ... sorry I LOVE you WWers but the meeting's.... meh ...

I am off this weekend and my refrigerator is like the Grand Canyon.... think echo.... echo.....

I stopped on my way home today, pulled off the freeway for a quick stop at my daughters work and I was thinking... back in the day... this was the fast food exit... one side of the freeway is McDonald's and breakfast at the drive through was pretty standard. Jack in the Box, or Burger King on the other side of the freeway, for the stop on the way home. A "snack" before dinner... OMG!!!! no wonder... 

I am so grateful for my life now!!! 



I need to do the good fairy dust positive energy dance over the next 24 hours.... Powerball is HUGE!!!

My how things have changed

always in the past years when my kids ask me what I want for Mother's day.... it was always the same... perfume, a card, flowers, clean the kitchen....

but this year, I heard about this killer deal at sears.com (who would have thought!!!) and I became obsessed!!!


a 10 pound bag of protein!!!! Rocky Road, for only $65.... seriously guys go check this out!!! 

I was one happy camper today when I got home, I love getting packages in the mail ... my husband always looks at me all crazy.... "honey... did you win a prize?"


this is all weird... but it is my snacks, 18 almonds, an apple and cut up veggies 


I had to use vanilla protein in my coffee this morning, good but I like the chocolate better in the morning, it's like a mocha.... yeah!!! tomorrow I will bust into the Rocky Road (and no I did not get up at 2:08 AM, the time on the coffee maker is wrong) 


my "cider's" the unfiltered apple cider vinegar mixed with cinnamon and some sweetener, tastes like a cider 


3 egg whites and 1/4 cup of oats 


brussel sprouts, cabbage, snap peas, 3 ounces of chicken and Walden Farms zero calorie BBQ sauce 


my MIL was a sweetie, she saw this and picked it up for me ... Pug mug :) 



28 months of maintenance!!! 

I also had another shake (made with water) 

I am pooped!!! off to catch me some ZZ's

Happy Mother's Day




I miss my Mom, she passed away over 10 years ago. She was not just my Mom, but a dear friend ... I know she is around... I feel her influence in my life. She was an amazing lady 

I love you Mom 



I found this a Trader Joe's.... errr did you guess that on your own ... derp... It is only $2.49  there and the Braggs is easily double the price... just a cost saving tip from one blogger to the next

when I went to our Leadership Summit in Kentucky we heard Coach K speak, I never understood the connection between coaching and leadership... actually life skill's... I know you may think this has nothing to do with weight loss and weight loss maintenance, but you would be surprised, it is not expensive ... the audio was only about $11 on Itunes and the book is only about $9 on Amazon, a quick read ... 
it is an AMAZING book!!!



No you don't Karla!!!! I have been actually doing good .... careful when I blog this statement is usually when I fall flat on my behind!! .... I saw 133.2 this morning.....eeeeekkkkkkkk!!!!!



holy home loan!!! yes chip's and cookies cost less, but I don't know about you 

but I AM WORTH IT!!!!

5/7/2013 food log


morning coffee aka meal #1 coffee with protein and some SF syrup 



meal #2 was 3 egg whites, oats and my 18 almonds 

housework burned 887 calories!!! 



meal # 3 brusell sprouts, cabbage, pea pods with 3 ounces of turkey cooked with onions, mushrooms, tumeric and cumin I added some Molly McButter seasoning and Bragg's aminos 


snacked on an apple with cinnamon 


meal #4 my shake made with water... yummo 
boo it's gone :P 


meal # 5 broccoli with 4 ounces fish, Molly McButter seasoning and some Bragg's Aminos 

off to the gym and I trained :) 


last meal 4 egg whites with asparagus and mushrooms 

i did a lot of cooking today because I am not off again until Sunday. I saw a version of Pesto on Instagram made with Kale, so I tried spinach pesto... dang I hope it is good 


I made 6 pieces of fish with the spinach pesto... I will let you know if it is a yummo or a bust 

off to clean the kitchen...
